All my thoughts are based on comparison to the THR10C I have. OK, here is my thoughts and opinions on the THR10II $299 version. Theres not a whole lot out there as far as reviews on the non wireless version so if anyone has any questions about the $299 version let me know and I will do my best to answer questions.I also have the older THR10c if anyone needs something compared. YT demos between the Vox and Yamaha seemed to be favorable regardless of which one you decided on but one minor short coming for me, the vox offers reverb OR delay, but not both at the same time. Wanted to try the vox adio, but none were to be seen. My opinion means nothing but I thought BOTH were junk. Side note : I tinkered with the Katana Air while there and the fender GT40, because they were there. Still not gigable without PA assistance but enough to run off the cat.
I will say that it does have more ass than the older ones as its 20 watts. The only time playing it so far has been at the store, so I will run it thru some paces and do a follow up in a couple of days. I was able to get some really good sounds out of it in just the short time tinkering with it. I installed the app on my phone before going to the money disposal facility, so i could try it out before pulling the trigger.
it still has the bluetooth and app capabilty. Couldn't see dulling out $500 or $600, so went for the base model (non wireless)$299. I'm pretty sure I'll sell my tube amp, the THR does everything the Tubemeister does and more.Realistic tube-amp tones and feel plus essential effectsġ5 guitar amp models, 3 bass amp models, 3 mic models for acoustic-electrics, and flat voicings for everything elseīluetooth® support for audio playback and editing via THR Remoteīuilt-in wireless receiver compatible with optional Line 6® Relay® G10T transmitterīuilt-in rechargeable battery lets you play anywhere I have mine hooked up to the sound card using the line out. The USB interface is for selecting effects and speaker simulation only, not for recording. There are 4 different reverb types and three different boosters to choose from but in orde to choose which one you want you need a computer. The power tube emulatuon is even more subtle. You will use have to use the EQ when you switch amp model.Īnd the neutral stuff: The effects of the class A/AB swithch on the back is noticable but subtle. I need a stronger input signal too push the output. An (to me) interesting observation is that the 25/50/100 watt switch on the back only seems to limit the max output, if I plug the strat in and crank the amp on the clean channel it doesn't get any louder on 100W than on 25W. The strat also has problems pushing the amp into some real heavy distortion on any channel without using a boost, either the built in or an external works fine though. If I put a compressor in front of it with the strat I can boost the volume, the headroom is there. On the clean channel I can crank it when using the strat with it's weak single coils without it getting uncomfortable, less so with the SG. It does get loud though, depending on the guitar you use. On the negative side: I doubt it's 100 watts, the power consumptuon of the H is 40W and the DH is 60W. You can hook it up to PA directly if you like. You can even (with third party software) make your own impulse responses. The cab simulation on the line out works great and sounds great. It is easy to use, no menues or anything, just knobs. I've only ahd it for a week but this is what I've found: On the plus side, IMO it's every bit as dynamic as my tube amp, I wouldn't have been able to tell that it wasn't tube amp in a blind test but I don't aveh a lot of experience with a lot of different amps. I would have loved the DH version but it was more than I wanted to spend. Click to expand.Yeah, they were clearing them out and I got if for $20 more than a THR10.
